Only someone who lives in darkness can find it.
Jack Talent has been alone with his demons for many years. He never expected to have the willful Mary Chase assist him on the Bishop case. Their age-old rivalry reaches new heights—even as their desire for one another reaches a fever pitch. Though he aches to bring her close, Jack’s dark secrets are a chasm between them. With dangerous enemies closing in, Jack must find the strength to face the past…or risk losing Mary forever
This is the fourth installment in this series and I absolutely love it! This book was focused more on the steampunk world and that’s what made it so wonderful!
The first three in The Darkest London Series had more of a historical vibe. This book was enthralling from the first page to the last. I could not put it down. It is very rare to come across a read that introduces a supernatural ability that you’ve yet to hear of, especially for me, considering I read so much. Yet Kristen Callihan delivers it.
Not only does Kristen bring something new to the supernatural world, she gives you a vibrant history lesson on where this supernatural being came from and how it originated. This series is something to follow. I personally would suggest reading it in order; you will know all the characters personally and understand how it all entangles together.
Mary and Jack are a couple that vibe together so smoothly, battling one another at every turn in a way that is mysterious and sexy. This book has plenty of romance, mystery, and detailed historical impressions. Both characters, Mary and Jack, take you on the ride of your life through the streets of London. There is one surprise after the next.
What else is really great about this series? The characters from previous novels make appearances and update you on their progress, including their relationships as well. I give really honest reviews and could not come up with anything negative about The Darkest London Series. It’s well written and spectacular from the first novel to this one.
