She was his saving grace.
The Red Hawk, warrior chieftain of Helmfirth, is an over bearing, dominating dragon who strikes fear in his enemies, until one day a nemesis dares to test his limits and attacks Hawk and all that he holds dear. With one foot in the grave, Hawk finds himself inside the walls of Dunfermline Abbey and his life at the mercy of Sister Kate. In repaying a debt for saving his life, Hawk accepts Kate’s proposal. Will her proposal be the death of him or save him from a terrible mistake?
He was her fall from grace.
Growing up in Dunfermline Abbey, boundaries and vows have kept Sister Kate safe until a wounded red-headed Highlander in desperate need of her help turns her guarded life upside down. The lure of this man brings out a side of Kate long suppressed, she now yearns to leave the Abbey in search of her true self. There’s one problem, she can’t make the daunting journey through the Highlands alone. She needs a Highlander with exceptional skills and she has her eyes set on one, Hawk.

Victoria Zak’s talent is one of a kind. I feel honored to be able to read ARCs from her; indulging in the bliss of dragons, fantasy, beautiful heroines, alpha male highlanders, and magical creatures.
Hawk and Kate’s journey is a superb story; sweeping you away to a world of magic and mystery. You will be sated and glued to the pages, just like me. Each chapter brought me so much excitement, and every other page had me feeling so many different emotions. This novel really makes you feel which I enjoy thoroughly.
I cannot pick a favorite from the “Guardians of Scotland” Series. Each and every hero/heroine left me panting for more; I became besotted with their stories. I always feel sad when a book written by Victoria Zak ends. Why? Because she takes me to another place, another world that I do not want to leave, full of wonder, love, magic and dragons.
I do not post spoilers in my reviews as I do not want to ruin it for those that haven’t read it yet. With that being said, all I can say to you is this: be prepared to be addicted to another book from the “Guardians of Scotland” Series, because you guys will fall in love with Hawk.
The novels written by Author Victoria Zak just keep getting better and better; with unique attributes Victoria creates you will stay entertained which is all we want in a good read. While reading this book you will feel like you are standing on the sidelines experiencing the twists, turns and magic that these paranormal dragons deliver.
With all the entertainment, emotions, happiness, tragedy and magic, of course, I highly suggest these stories to all strangers, family, and friends. Everyone be sure to experience each novel in order. You can read “Highland Fate” as a standalone, but trust me, you will get much more satisfaction out of meeting each and every Hunky Highland, Dragon Shifter and heroines that make their hearts skip a beat or two. Thank you for writing another superb story Victoria and I can’t wait for the next installment in this thrilling series!

About the Author
Victoria Zak lives in the sunshine state with her husband, two beautiful children, and three furry friends. Before having kids, Victoria spent fifteen years in the veterinary business and volunteered in pet rescue.
“One of my most rewarding jobs was finding unwanted animals their forever homes.”
A writing career was the last item listed on her bucket list, until she discovered that she wanted to put her stories on paper and breathe life into her characters. Her love for Scotland, curiosity of history, and passion for romance has inspired her to write her first book, Highland Burn.
“Fourteenth century Scotland was a fascinating time in history. Not only was Scotland fighting for their freedom from the English king, their own people fought each other; clan vs clan. Though being a woman of the twenty-first century, I wouldn’t want to live in those unsettled times. But writing historical fiction paranormal romance allows me to escape into their world and breathe a fresh air of romance and magic into that era, which I love to do.”
Victoria loves to hear from her readers. You can connect with her through FB, Twitter, G+, and her website
